This live wire has
gone to live with beautiful long haired ginger
Brutus, and we are hoping that they will become
fast friends.
TWO BRITISH BEARS
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
The teddies have
had the good fortune to be adopted together
into a home that already featured two others
of their kind. Can you spot them on this picture?
Cadbury (bottom left) now bears the suitably
bearlike name of Bruno, while Edmund (bottom
right) is now a dignified Arnold. Here they
make an eye-catching foursome with their new
friends. (February 9, 2005)
DAFFODIL's new name
is LOLA
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
Now named Lola,
this happy cat has finally found what she wanted
all along, a human of her very own, in a home
with no other cats to compete with her. Here
is what her owner says about her: "We are
getting along fabulously. She sleeps on my bed
and demands a tummy rub before I go to sleep
every night. She is very affectionate and has
a cute habit of sort of asking for permission
before she jumps up on the couch or my bed.
She has become a lot more playful as well and
will pounce on a toy (or my feet) from around
a corner. We have become very good friends!"

After an initial
fostering period, this lucky boy has now been
adopted and is flourishing in his home. His
persistent skin complaint (on his belly, at
the site of his earlier hernia) has cleared
up thanks to a homeopathic veterinary treatment,
and he is the delight of his owner. (February

HENRIETTA and HERMIONE
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
Henrietta is now
called Yidl, and Hermione has kept her name
The girls were adopted on January 6th, and by
the same wonderful home, so they were clearly
born under a lucky star. The first report tells
me they are integrating well and that little
Hermione has completely cowed one of the resident
cats, a bruiser named Brutus, whom she loftily
ignores (January 9th 2005).
FILBERT's new name
is GRISOU
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
Filbert was hand
picked as a companion for a delightful old lady
who was looking for a friendly cat who would
talk to her, share the sofa with her and generally
allow her to lavish affection on him. She was
charmed by him right from the start, and all
family members who have met him are equally
delighted with his engaging personality. He
has been renamed Grisou (January 3 2005).
Henry
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
Lucky Henry was
chosen to be a buddy for big placid Tommy, and
their friendship was almost instantaneous. A
mere four days after Henry’s arrival,
the boys were grooming each other, sharing the
furniture and chasing each other up and down
the apartment. Tommy is becoming interested
in toys he thus far ignored, probably because
Henry is very toy fixated and likes to carry
balls and bits of cardboard around in his mouth.
Their owner is thrilled, even though she could
do without being woken at 5 AM by two cats horsing
around. She is a patient woman, as she happily
accommodates both boys on her lap, grooming
each other and ignoring her (not to mention
crushing her with a combined weight of some
thirty pounds). (February 9, 2005)
KIMONO 's new name
is NALUCA
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
This tiny girl is
basking in the attention of her doting owners
and two Huskies. She relished a Christmas holiday
in the Gaspé, where her owners have a
beautiful home with plenty of perches for an
agile feline. (February 11th, 2005)
Kimono’s name is now Naluca and she is
relishing her new life with her doting owners
and their two Huskies. She now has a spacious
house to frolic around in and is showing off
her amazing agility. Her ability to soak up
love and attention is a constant source of delight
to her new humans, and even the dogs are beginning
to appreciate their little companion (January
7th 2005).
COLUMBINE 's new
name is MING
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
Here is lovely Ming
(formerly Columbine) in her beautiful home,
blending perfectly with the artwork and antiques
and charming all comers. She is considered a
wonderful addition to the family. (February
11th)
Columbine’s new name is Ming, a perfect
choice for this sweet and elegant cat, and she
blossoming in her new home. She particularly
enjoys the fact that one of her owners spends
a lot of time at home, so that loneliness is
banished for good from her life (January 7th
2005).
FOREST (creamier)
and TABOO (darker)
Approx. Date of Birth:
Weight:
Sex:
Breed:
As the song says,
"At last, my love has come along, My lonely
days are over, And life is like a lovely song.
At last, The skies above are blue, My heart’s
wrapped up in clover, Ever since ...I looked
at you". Well, sorry to be a trifle schmaltzy,
but the boys have waited for close to a year
and their new home was worth the wait. They
immediately felt at ease with their new owner,
which is not so surprising in the case of easy-going
Forest (who makes a bee line for his owner’s
lap whenever she sits at the computer), but
quite unusual for Taboo, who has given up his
"I resist change" attitude and now
lounges on the sofa with one arm over the armrest,
à la Gatsby, or lies spread-eagled on
the bed. I will be able to se this for myself
soon, as an invitation to tea has come my way,
so check the web site for new pictures in the
next update. (February 16, 2005)
